Letter of acceptance

Academic calendar
The winter semester runs from the beginning of September until the end of January/beginning of February (depending on the School). The specific dates will be confirmed later this year. Our academic calendar is published online.

Visa application
Students with a non-European nationality will need a permit and/or visa to study in The Netherlands. Our immigration office will help your students with the immigration procedure once they have received their letter of acceptance. Please note that students have to transfer a financial guarantee to Hanze UAS as part of this process.

Students can apply for housing as soon as they have received their letter of acceptance. We urge students to look for a room a.s.a.p. as housing can be difficult to find.
The application for rooms through SSH is open from 1 May. The sooner a student applies, the higher his/her chances are to receive the room of choice.
Practical information about living in Groningen and more options about finding a room can be found at: www.athomeingroningen.com
